Here is a sample Expense tracker I created in google spreadsheets: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvFYNI9VGM6TdDNrcEtodk5ZZkNKX0cxTmwxS21ralE&usp=sharing Change everything except the highlighted cells because those contain formulas that run calculations. A key habit I implement each month is tallying up that month's expenditures. Doing so gives me awareness of where my money is going and this allows me to consider whether these expenses or necessary or unnecessary. You then can also think about how to reduce necessary expenditures and eliminate unnecessary ones.

This is step 3 of my 4 step series to pay off debt faster. How to cut expenses to pay off debt faster. Once you have your budget set, the next thing you need to do is cut costs where you can and apply that extra money towards your debt. Cut things like cable, eating out, and clothing budget. Negotiate car insurance, internet, and cell phone bills. I'm shocked at how many of my friends who don't negotiate their bills every year. A couple of years ago, I did this with my car insurance and went from paying $130/month to $65/month for the exact same coverage. That's $780 a year and $65 bucks a month that I'm saving. I cut this bill by 50%. I know this may not seem like a lot, but do this with a few bills, and you have a few hundred dollars to throw at you debt. Weekly Blog: www.enoughwithd...
Get my FREE COURSE: www.projectlifemastery.com/freecourse In this video, I share with you my financial freedom goal setting breakdown. Everybody aspires to achieve financial freedom, but why do so few people get there? Simple. They don't commit to setting goals. If you want to be successful at anything in life, you must have written goals and a strategy in place in order to achieve them. Having a goal is not enough. This is where people get into trouble. Goal setting is an action-based process. Because financial freedom is a long-term commitment, you need to set SMART (specific, measurable, actionable, realistic, and time-bound) goals so that you don't lose momentum along the way. There’s no limit to how many goals you can set for yourself, but I recommend setting a number that you can...

We went over the Business Use of Your Home form for reporting and determining what you can use as deductions. The space must be used exclusively for business purposes and as a principal and regular place of business to meet with customers, clients, or patients. When you take the various home office deductions, it's important to understand the difference between direct and indirect expenses. In the indirect expense column of Form 8829 you'll list the total expenses associated with the home then multiply that total by the business use percentage. Direct expenses are any costs that apply only to the portion of the home dedicated to business activities. I go into detail also on how to use the the portions correctly concerning mortgage interest and real estate taxes paid. The actual pre...
